Javier Herrera is a PTR-certified professional with over 15 years of experience coaching all levels and age groups of the game. For three years, he was in Germany as tennis director for a club with 400 members. More recently, he held the same directing position at Mexico’s most exclusive country club.

Prior to coaching, Javier was a touring pro with ITF and prize money titles in multiple countries, reaching an ATP ranking of 574/1007 (doubles and singles). He has also competed in the French and German club leagues, which are popular among professionals.

Born in Mexico City, Javier grew up in a tennis family. Always among the top players in his country, he closed his junior career in Mexico ranked #2 in boys’ 18. He later played collegiate tennis, becoming a JUCO All-American both in singles and doubles. Some highlights of his team accomplishments include National Runner-Ups with Tyler Junior College, and Southwest Conference Champions with UT Arlington.

Today, he is STA’s management consultant. He will be personally involved in the development of the program and available for private instruction.
